Why am I blogging about food supply agri-science? Because feeding the human population matters! See the video below to better understand the urgency of teaching food production to a fast-growing human population.
Transcript: People will fight for food. This is the one thing that we all have to have. There is a great disparity between population growth and resources, so we must somehow find a way to find a way to increase food production in the areas where the rapid growth in population is. Every ten to twelve years, we are adding another billion people. Just the math tells you that we’re going to need to double food production in the next thirty years. This problem is real. And so we have come up with a vision to stop this potential of perishing people in thirty years. It is about changing the present template on how to educate people in food production.
Food Supply Agri-Science in Action
As a global advocate and practitioner of herd welfare and safety, the “Moo Vet” has seen it all. One of my favorite scriptures is: “Where there is no vision, the people perish” Proverbs 29:18.
There must be a vision for food production, and veterinarians specializing in food supply medicine can lead the charge. This is an overarching theme in my book, It’s has been my life’s work, from milk production to meat consumption. Yes, it’s incumbent on me and other food supply agri-science practitioners to help feed the world one healthy cow at a time!
Straight From the Heart
There are ways for non-vets and concerned citizens to rally around food supply mission work and other initiatives. Some of my favorite nonprofits support
- Christian Veterinarian Mission — “Using your passion for veterinary medicine to share Christ’s love.”
- Animal Impact — “Select a gift, give a card, and change a life!”
- Freedom Global — “Exists to display Christ’s love by creating sustainable solutions to alleviate poverty in the developing world through social business, education, and discipleship.”
- Hire Impact — “Highly skilled Virtual Assistants for businesses, churches, and nonprofits, working on your schedule.”
