God, I pray your will to know.
Oh, sovereign God bid me know.
I pray for discernment, Holy One.
Your will as it is to be done.
Please, Lord, bid our efforts be one.
Father, You of infinite love,
Speak to me clearly from above.
My finite mind it cannot grasp
The will of One, being first and last,
The One all knowing of future and past.
Let me not my emotions to trust.
Human perceptions are oft’ not just.
Your Holy Spirit stirs my heart.
I plead for a sign of where to start.
You have the plan – how great Thou art!
Is service of needy and You the same?
Love of neighbor has this as its aim.
The Word gives guidance, I do hold dear.
Alas, I believe you will answer my prayer.
I place my concern in Your gracious care.
Yes, my God, my life I pledge.
My gifts and talents I hone to fine edge.
Your service, a shield from all things evil.
For this I know the Good Shepherd will
My harried life with joy to fill.
God I pray your will to know.
Oh, sovereign God bid me know.
In solemn stillness I listen for you.
My Majesty’s will with my life I’ll do,
Until my time on earth is thru.
